Gift Box & Thank You Card

My Dad asked me to make a small thank you gift for a nurse at the unit where he is staying and this is what I came up with. It's a very simple box to hold a small box of chocolates and is made with Rose Red and co-ordinating DSP from the paper stack. The flowers are diecut and punched with the Floral Fusion Sizzlits and a punch from Itty Bitty Punches, again in Rose Red and also Pink Pirouette. The leaves were diecut with the Little Leaves Sizzlits die in River Rock and the flowers were finished with a Basic Pearl for the centres. I made a matching thank you card using the same supplies and the sentiment was punched with the Word Window punch and layered onto a Modern Label.
We have been out visiting places today to try and find a suitable placement for Dad so he can finally leave hospital and found one that was ideal. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we can get it sorted before the place goes and we can get him out of a hospital environment and into somewhere a bit more homely!!!

A very simple card made for a male colleague's birthday. I used French Foliage stamped in Early Espresso, Old Olive and More Mustard onto Very Vanilla cardstock and matted this onto a piece of slightly wider Early Espresso cardstock. A knot of Early Espresso ribbon (retired) was tied round before fixing to a Naturals Ivory card blank which had been randomly stamped down the left hand side. The card was finished off with a sentiment punched with the Word Window punch and layered onto a Modern Label punched from Early Espresso.

My crafting is still extremely erratic as life seems to have past me by these last few months but, fingers crossed, things can only get better!!!

Treat Holder

Back again with a little chocolate treat holder. This is a really simple 'wallet style' holder made with a rectangle of More Mustard cardstock scored and folded to the size of the chocolate bar. The flap is embossed with the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder and decorated with a flower made with the Floral Fusion Sizzlits die (fast becoming an all time favourite of mine!), some leaves from the Little Leaves die and tied with More Mustard grosgrain ribbon (retired). Inside I just made a bellyband to hold the chocolate bar in place which is glued to the back.

I'm very conscious that I haven't posted anything for a while so am showing you something I made back in the summer. I won't go into detail about the products as, when I made it they hadn't retired, but now some of them have!! Anyway you get the idea and there are plenty of new products which would do the job just as well.
I haven't had a lot of time for crafting as we are still trying desperately to get Dad sorted (which is much easier said than done believe me!) and the things I have made I haven't yet found time to photograph. Only a week to go until a holiday so hopefully I will be able to catch up a little.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I'll be back as soon as I can x

Regular visitors to my blog will know that I am not getting too much time to craft recently (or blog!!) so, when I needed a birthday card and gift for a friend the day after my daughters birthday, I cheated a bit and made a card very similar to my daughters. Ths time I used Cherry Cobbler and Naturals Ivory and the Cherry Cobbler Tulle ribbon. I made the little gift bag with some Cherry Cobbler DSP from the DSP Stack and the sentiment is a retired one but fitted the contents perfectly. A very quick post tonight as I need some sleep!!

It's my daughter's birthday today and this is the card I made for her. A very simple card using Crumb Cake, Naturals Ivory, a touch of Lucky Limeade and the gorgeous Crumb Cake Tulle Ribbon. The flower is made with the new Floral Fusion Sizzlits die and one of the Itty Bitty punches and the leaves are from the Bird Builder punch. The picture on the right shows a memo board I made for her using Lucky Limeade, Naturals Ivory stamped with the large Parlor Prints background stamp, the swirl stamp from Everything Eleanor, Floral Fusion Sizzlits die and Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon.

Baubles into Vases!

I have been very bad at blogging (and crafting) recently due to family illness but thank you to all of you who haven't deserted me during what is proving to be quite a difficult time. This is a card and gift envelope I made for my sister a couple of weeks ago and uses the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set (the baubles have transformed into vases!) There is a set of co-ordinating dies to go with this set (buy them together and save £7 on the individual prices) but on this occassion I cut them out with paper snips. The colour is Calypso Coral, the ribbon is now retired, the flowers are made from the Boho Blossoms and Itty Bitty punches and the leaves are from the 2-step Bird Punch. The 'happy birthday' is from a retired set (I think!) and punched with the Word Window punch and 'sister' is from For my Family. I made the little money wallet with the Scallop Envelope die. Bye for now & Happy Crafting x

Thursday 4 October 2012

Just a very quick post today showing you my version of something which was inspired by a card on Page 10 of the new catalogue. I used a stamp from Delightful Decorations, stamped in Versamark and gold embossed. One bauble was stamped directly onto the card and the other on scrap and punched with the ornament punch. The leaves are punched from the Bird Bulder punch in Old Olive and arranged at the top with two pieces of Bakers Twine to 'hang' the baubles on. The punched bauble was fixed to the card using dimensionals and a tiny bow of Bakers Twine added to both. The sentiment from Greetings of the Season (Autumn/Winter catalogue) was gold embossed and the panel was matted onto Brushed Gold cardstock before fixing to a card blank. A few Basic Pearls were added to finish the card off.
If you would like to order anything from either of the current catalogues please contact me and I will be happy to help, or why not join my Stampers 6 group which is starting soon.

ILWS Blog Hop

Welcome to the ILWS Blog Hop showcasing products from the brand new Autumn/Winter catalogue and the 2012-13 Ideas Book & Catalogue. Scroll down to see what I've been making.

You will have come to me from Laura, at http://lauracreativeideas.blogspot.com/ who's idea it was and who is the first stop on the blog hop. Thanks for organising us all Laura :0)
I won't go into too much detail as you will want to move on to see all the other projects from the lovely demo's taking part.  The first set of things are made with the Ghoulish Googlies Bundle & Howlstooth DSP

The B&W striped Milk Carton above holds a battery nite lite and the picture in the centre shows what it looks like lit up when it's dark! Credit for the ideas of the Notebooks (top right) goes to Vicky Hayes (aka Crafting Clare) and Ange Juda (aka Chic'n'Scratch) for the Two-Fold Treat holder (bottom right). Next thing to show you are projects made with the Autumn Accents Bigz Die

Left & Right are cards made with the die cut leaves/acorns which have been sponged, scored and curled to give dimension and in the centre is a wreath made from die cut leaves and acorns which have been made in the same way. On the wreath I added some Crystal Effects to the acorns to make them a little more 3D. My final projects are showing you the fabulous new 2012-14 In Colours - Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals & Summer Starfruit. I used the Mixed Bunch stamp set & matching Blossom Punch along with the Adorning Accents Edgelits Dies and Embossing Folders which were all in the Summer Mini but have thankfully been carried over to the main catalogue.

Right I hope you're not too bored now after this long post and you will carry on happily 'hopping'. Your next stop is Angela over at http://www.sparklycards.blogspot.co.uk/

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your journey :0)
